Oando gets drone licence from NCAA

The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has issued the first Remotely Piloted Aircraft/Drones (RPAS) Operators Certificate (ROC) to Oando Plc.
The spokesman of the authority, Sam Adurogboye, broke the news yesterday.
The RPAS Operators Certificate (ROC), according to Adurogboye  shall remain in force till June  15, 2019 and shall be carried on site during each authorized/approved operations.
By the development, he  said the  authority  is pioneering the issuance of certificate to civil/private operators in the unmanned aircraft operations category.
He said Oando  Reservoir and Production Services Limited  received the certificate having satisfied the requirements  and was found competent to secure the safe operation of the aircraft  with type registration number Lockheed Martins SN 248-255.
The certificate is for flights covers aerial work in environmental observation monitoring and protection.
To qualify for the issuance of certificate, applicants are expected to undergo five phases.
These include pre-application, formal application, document evaluation, demonstration & inspection and certification phases.

Police declare senator as deserter

•Misau denies allegation The police yesterday declared Senator Isa Misau, a former Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), as a deserter from the force. Police spokesman Jimoh Moshood, who addressed a news conference in Abuja, called on other security agencies to step into the matter with the police deserter. FG will address various grievances in Nigeria – Osinbajo

Acting President Yemi Osinbajo, on Tuesday assured Nigerians that the President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration would address all grievances in the country. Osinbajo, according to a statement issued on Tuesday by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Laolu Akande, stated this during his interaction with leaders from the North, Southeast and the media. Nigeria backs nuclear weapons-free world

Nigeria has voiced its support to the non-proliferation of Weapons of Mass Destruction mass (WMD), saying a world free of nuclear weapons is the ideal society it envisaged.   Elon Musk has suggested that all users of X, formerly called Twitter, may have to pay for access to the platform. In a conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the billionaire said a payment system was the only way to counter bots. "We're moving to having a small monthly payment for use of the system," the Tesla and SpaceX boss said. The BBC approached X for further details but has not yet received a statement from the company.
