WIDOW WHO CLEANS ALTER GETS HOUSE GIFT FROM PASTOR


 The Founder and General Overseer of Omega Power Ministries, Apostle Dr. Chibuzor Chinyere, on Monday, gifted a widow, Mrs Patricia Iyere, a bungalow house in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

A Monday statement by Kenneth Nwachi, the Special Adviser (Special Duties) to Apostle Chinyere, noted that the cleric also gave the widow a car that would be used for an Uber transport business that would generate income for her.

The elderly widow was said to always clean the altar at the church headquarters.

“Iyere was firstly gifted a car after which she came back to the man of God to complain about her house rent which has expired.

“Apostle Chinyere quickly intervened and called those in charge of the OPM free estates to enable him to move Iyere to one of the flats in the OPM 18 free estates but was told that the estates were fully occupied.

“Apostle Chinyere thought about giving her money to pay but changed his mind and called his agent and directed him to look for a mini estate so he could buy for the widow. After the search, the agent could not find any mini estate for Apostle Chinyere to buy for Mrs Iyere.

 “The agent finally found a bungalow where Apostle Chinyere paid in full in the name of Mrs Patricia Iyere, the widow and handed the documents to her which made her the owner of the house today,” Nwachi said.

Man killed by gunmen in Yenagoa not NYSC member – Spokesman

Samuel Collins, the 31-year-old man shot dead by unknown gunmen on Saturday in Yenagoa, is not a corps member, an official of the National Youths Service Corps (NYSC) in Bayelsa, has said. Mr Mathew Ngobua, Head, Public Relations Unit, NYSC office Yenagoa, made the clarification on Monday in Yenagoa in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN). He said that checks conducted at NYSC database revealed that the name of the victim was not in the record. He described reports that the victim was a corps member as “misleading,’’ adding that the security of corps members was top priority of the management of the NYSC in Bayelsa. How to avert post-primary crisis in Ekiti APC

Ekiti State All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant Hon. Bimbo Daramola has urged the party leadership to conduct a credible primary to avert post-primary crisis. Senate gives NPA four days for information on 282 missing vessels

The Senate on Thursday, gave the Managing Director, Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Hadiza Usman, four days to explain the whereabouts of over 282 vessels allegedly missing from the sea ports. Sen. Hope Uzodinma, Chairman, Senate’s Joint Committee on Customs, Excise and Tariff and Marine Transport, gave the ultimatum in Abuja, at an investigative hearing on N30 trillion lost through leakages in Customs and other agencies. Uzodinma, who expressed displeasure with the managing director for not honouring the committee’s two previous invitations, said the information on the vessels was imperative and must be available within four days. Wike raising false alarm against security agencies, says APC

The Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has accused Governor Nyesom Wike of raising false alarm against security agencies. The governor, on Wednesday, claimed the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) operatives were behind kidnapping and robbery in the state. NATIONAL Identity Management Commission (NIMC)  Director-General, Aliyu Aziz, has faulted the identification system, arguing that it cannot foster economic growth. Homes submerged in Lagos, Suleja, Ibadan Ikoyi, Lekki, others thrown into darkness Floods hit many Nigerian cities after long hours of rainfall at the weekend. There were deaths. Homes were  flooded. Eleven people died in Suleja and other towns in Niger State. Many parts of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, were flooded. Residents of highbrow Victoria Island, Lekki and Ajah in Lagos were yesterday waiting for the floods to recede. They were warned to vacate the flood-prone area because of the expected intense rains. MOHBAD: FRESH-FM BANS NAIRA MARLEY SONGS

  A privately owned radio broadcast station, Fresh FM 106.9 FM, Ado in Ekiti State, on Tuesday morning, banned the playing of songs by Nigerian singer, Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, from airing on the station till further notice. The radio station disclosed this in a post shared on its Instagram handle (@freshfm1069adoekiti) and signed by its Head of production and Music Content, Oluwaseunfunmi Williams. The ban follows the death of Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Oladimeji, popularly known as MohBad, and criticism surrounding Naira Marley. Earlier, on Monday, a radio broadcast station, Splash FM 105.5 Ibadan, Oyo state, banned the playing of songs by Naira Marley.
