A constellation of Kenyan artists, comprising Bensoul, Savara (of Sauti Sol fame), Nviiri The Storyteller, Fathermoh, Ndovu Kuu, Maandy, and Jovial, come together in the stunning musical collaboration "Tujengane." The English translation of the song title, "Tujengane," is "Let's Build Together," which sums up the message of harmony, cooperation, and support for one another.

The song emphasizes the value of uniting as a society to celebrate life, regardless of one's financial situation, obstacles at work, or other difficulties in life. This song exhorts listeners to put aside their disagreements and difficulties in order to work together to accomplish more than they could separately.

Obaseki versus Ize-Iyamu: Appeal Court gives verdict today

The Court of Appeal sitting in Benin City will today deliver its judgment on the appeal filed by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu against the judgment of the lower tribunal. Governor Godwin Obaseki and the All Progressive Congress (APC) filed a cross appeal over a ruling of the tribunal refusing to strike out some paragraphs in the petition and to invalidate the order by the tribunal for the inconclusive recount of ballot papers used during the election. Pastor Ize-Iyamu filed 41 grounds of appeal against the tribunal judgment while Obaseki filed four grounds of cross appeal. The three-man tribunal panel led by Justice Ahmed Badamasi upheld the election of Obaseki by throwing out the petition of Pastor Ize-Iyamu. Court adjourns hearing on EFCC’s bid to seize Diezani’s houses

The Federal High Court in Lagos on Friday adjourned till September 22 hearing of an application for final forfeiture of 58 houses allegedly belonging to a former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke. She allegedly bought the houses between 2011 and 2013 for $21,982,224 million (N3, 320,000,000 billion). Listed as first to sixth respondents in the suit are – Mrs. Alison-Madueke, Donald Chidi Amamgbo and four firms – Chapel Properties Limited, Blue Nile Estate Limited, Azinga Meadows Limited and Vistapoint Property Development Limited. Justice Chuka Obiozor adjourned to enable the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) respond to an objection filed by one of the respondents. The Commission’s lawyer, A. Lawyers: IPOB’s funding can be blocked diplomatically

Lawyers yesterday said the federal government can block the funding of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) through diplomatic means. The government had said IPOB gets its funding from France, which it described as the group’s international headquarters. But France denied having anything to do with the secessionist group. Director-General of West African Institute for Financial and Economic Management (WAIFEM), Prof. Akpan Ekpo, urged the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU) to track financial flows to IPOB. He said the agency should work closely with all core regulators of financial, other-financial institutions, designated non- financial businesses and professions to ensure that funding for IPOB is blocked. ROYAL SOCIETY AIMS TO BOOST NUMBER OF BLACK SCIENTISTS

  Young black scientists will get sizeable grants towards cutting-edge research in a pilot scheme aimed at increasing their numbers in the field. Five scientists a year will get up to £690,000 spread over four years. The Royal Society, which represents the UK's leading researchers, hopes its grants increase low numbers of black scientists, particularly in research. The fellowships  should allow the recipients to work in any of the country's research institutes. It will also mentor the scientists and help with career networking. Royal Society President Prof Sir Adrian Smith told BBC News that the low numbers of black scientists in the UK was "unacceptable". Dr Mark Richards, who is one of the UK's very few senior black scientists, and who helped the Royal Society develop the scheme, said that although the number of fellowships is small, it is hoped that they will make a big difference.
