A constellation of Kenyan artists, comprising Bensoul, Savara (of Sauti Sol fame), Nviiri The Storyteller, Fathermoh, Ndovu Kuu, Maandy, and Jovial, come together in the stunning musical collaboration "Tujengane." The English translation of the song title, "Tujengane," is "Let's Build Together," which sums up the message of harmony, cooperation, and support for one another.

The song emphasizes the value of uniting as a society to celebrate life, regardless of one's financial situation, obstacles at work, or other difficulties in life. This song exhorts listeners to put aside their disagreements and difficulties in order to work together to accomplish more than they could separately.

Flood displaces over 10,000 in Kogi

Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello said yesterday over 10,000 people had been displaced by flood. He spoke when he visited the affected areas, including Sarkin Numa and Ganaja villages. The governor also visited Internally Displaced Persons’ (IDPs’) camps. He said anytime it rained heavily, River Niger and Benue overflowed their banks and the effect was felt more by the indigenes. Bello said communities in Ibaji, Ajaokuta, IgalaMela/Odolu, Bassa, Koton-Karfi and Lokoja were also affected. He urged the Federal Government to assist the state. Said he: “Kogi is in need of humanitarian interventions. “Houses have been submerged by flood in Lokoja and Ibaji. The situation is pathetic. Governor’s aides join Adeyeye’s campaign

Some loyalists of Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose have moved to the camp of a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant, Prince Dayo Adeyeye. Among those who dumped the governor are: former Commissioner for Public Utilities, Mr. Deji Adesua; former factional House of Assembly Speaker, Dele Olugbemi; and a Special Assistant, Alhaji Musa Kanga. They were among thousands of supporters, who welcomed Adeyeye yesterday to his campaign office on Ikere Road, and staged a road show for him. Kanga led scores of fellow Hausa PDP members in the state, pledging their loyalty and support for Adeyeye’s governorship ambition. Other ethnic nationalities that identified with the aspirant are: the Urhobo, the Idoma and the Igbo. Revealed: Security advises against arrest of Northern youths

Following security advice, there were indications yesterday that the Presidency is weighing options on how to tackle the Coalition of Northern Youths and the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) for the actualization of the Republic of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. Security agencies, sources said yesterday, have advised the Federal Government to embrace dialogue and give the two groups final warning instead of arrest, outright crackdown and revocation of Kanu’s bail. I read recently that a certain ‘Mr. Evans’, a notorious kidnapper who operated his ‘business’ on the million-dollar scale, had been ‘kidnapped’ by the police. Atlas Microfinance bank to sue Umana over N14m campaign loans

Atlas Microfinance Bank Limited has threatened to sue the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate in 2015 election in Akwa Ibom State, Obong Umana Umana, over alleged N14m debt. The bank said this through its agent De-Bongos International Ltd both operating in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The bank, through its agent, claimed that Umana had secured the loans facility with a 20 percent monthly interest on it to finance his governorship election campaigns. The head coach of the Nigeria female U20 team, Christopher Danjuma, has said he has 70 per cent knowledge of how the Falconets ’ opponent, Tanzania, will play the African qualifier for France 2018 on Saturday. Nwoye: Abuja APC chieftains plot election annulment

There is a plot in the All Progressives Congress (APC) to annul the Anambra State governorship primary election which House of Representatives member Tony Nwoye won. It was learnt that some influential members of the party in Abuja, known as “Abuja Forces”, were unhappy that Nwoye secured the ticket. The forces include some members of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC), some ranking members of the National Assembly and some money-bags who feel that their interest will not be protected by Nwoye, sources said. Einstein’s light-bending by single far-off star detected

For the first time, astronomers have seen a star outside of the solar system bend the light from another star. The measurement, reported June 7 in Austin, Texas, at a meeting of the American Astronomical Society, vindicates both Einstein’s most famous theory and what goes on in the inner lives of stellar corpses. Astronomers using the Hubble Space Telescope watched as a white dwarf passed in front of a more distant star. That star seemed to move in a small loop, its apparent position deflected by the white dwarf’s gravity. More than a century ago, Albert Einstein predicted that the way spacetime bends around a massive object — the sun, say — should shift the apparent position of stars that appear behind that object.
