‘DON JAZZY IS NOT CHEATING ME’ – REEKADO BANKS SLAMS RUMOR


Several reports have it that Ayoleyi Hanniel Solomon, aka Reekado Banks is not rewarded handsomely by Mavin. It was alleged that the label gets the bulk of the money you make through shows, endorsements etc, and that only a meager amount gets to him.
Banks denies this “If Mavin is taking majority of the money, how come I was able to build my mum a house and I’m building a school? I also drive nice cars. It is business, and we knew what we were getting into by signing the contract with Mavin. If I wasn’t comfortable with it, I wouldn’t have signed it.”
He has denied that there is some sort of rivalry between him, Korede Bello and Di’ja; “There is no form of rivalry among us and we see each other frequently; we only have healthy competition. Everybody is constantly trying to record the best song, and it’s not just between me, Korede and Di’ja. It is the same with the whole Mavin crew.
Don Jazzy, Altims and Baby Fresh are always trying to produce the best beats. All the artistes also work hard to put out hit records. To a very large extent, that is even one of the things pushing the label.

Senate gives NPA four days for information on 282 missing vessels

The Senate on Thursday, gave the Managing Director, Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Hadiza Usman, four days to explain the whereabouts of over 282 vessels allegedly missing from the sea ports. Sen. Hope Uzodinma, Chairman, Senate’s Joint Committee on Customs, Excise and Tariff and Marine Transport, gave the ultimatum in Abuja, at an investigative hearing on N30 trillion lost through leakages in Customs and other agencies. Uzodinma, who expressed displeasure with the managing director for not honouring the committee’s two previous invitations, said the information on the vessels was imperative and must be available within four days. NIMC chief faults identification system

NATIONAL Identity Management Commission (NIMC)  Director-General, Aliyu Aziz, has faulted the identification system, arguing that it cannot foster economic growth. Impact of $3b bond on debt ’ll be modest

T he Federal Government’s plan to issue USD3 billion worth of foreign bonds of up to three years maturity to refinance maturing naira-denominated treasury bills, if approved, will have a modest impact on broad debt sustainability indicators, experts at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC Nigeria) have said. In line with Federal Government’s debt management strategy to rebalance its debt portfolio for domestic and foreign debt, from the current 69 per cent: 3 1 per cent to a targeted 60per cent: 40 per cent, the Federal Executive Council (FEC) recently approved a plan to issue USD3 billion worth of foreign bonds of up to three years maturity to refinance maturing naira-denominated treasury bills. Homes submerged in Lagos, Suleja, Ibadan Ikoyi, Lekki, others thrown into darkness Floods hit many Nigerian cities after long hours of rainfall at the weekend. There were deaths. Homes were  flooded. Eleven people died in Suleja and other towns in Niger State. Many parts of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, were flooded. Residents of highbrow Victoria Island, Lekki and Ajah in Lagos were yesterday waiting for the floods to recede. They were warned to vacate the flood-prone area because of the expected intense rains. Many parts of Lagos Island have been thrown into darkness because the floods soaked power facilities. Niger State was worst hit by the floods after five hours of rainfall.
