Ogun to distribute C of O bi-monthly


Ogun State Governor  Ibikunle Amosun has assured that the issuance of Certificates of Occupancy and other land title documents under the Homeowners’ Charter Scheme will now be bi-monthly in order to fast-track the process.
The Governor who stated this while distributing the documents to successful beneficiaries at the Oba’s Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, said it would help speed-up the process and avoid needless delay in the issuance of the Certificates to qualified applicants.
Amosun, who was represented by the Special Adviser/Director-General, Bureau of Lands & Survey, Mr. Biyi Ismail, pleaded with applicants yet to complete payment to pay up on time so that their application can be promptly processed.
 ‘’We have been consistent in the distribution of C of O and other land title documents in the last three months and we even made it bi-monthly from August 2017 just to make Homeowners’ Charter process faster and not to keep successful applicants waiting’’ he said.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Finance, Mrs. Olufunmilayo Dada, thanked the beneficiaries for their support and understanding.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Taiwo Yusuf from Ayetoro, was grateful to the State government for giving them their title documents saying they could now heave a sigh of relief as the development literarily puts an end to the agony they had  suffered in the hands of land grabbers popularly knwon as ‘’Omo- onile.’’

FRSC deploys 33,000 personnel for Sallah

The Federal Road Safety Corps has approved the deployment of 33,000 regular and special marshals, 859 patrol vehicles, 106 ambulances, 267 motorbikes and 22 tow trucks for the 2017 Eid-el-kabir celebrations. This is to address wrong road usage by motorists which results in a high number of crashes during festivities. Senate gives NPA four days for information on 282 missing vessels

The Senate on Thursday, gave the Managing Director, Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Hadiza Usman, four days to explain the whereabouts of over 282 vessels allegedly missing from the sea ports. Sen. Hope Uzodinma, Chairman, Senate’s Joint Committee on Customs, Excise and Tariff and Marine Transport, gave the ultimatum in Abuja, at an investigative hearing on N30 trillion lost through leakages in Customs and other agencies. Uzodinma, who expressed displeasure with the managing director for not honouring the committee’s two previous invitations, said the information on the vessels was imperative and must be available within four days. NIMC chief faults identification system

NATIONAL Identity Management Commission (NIMC)  Director-General, Aliyu Aziz, has faulted the identification system, arguing that it cannot foster economic growth. Impact of $3b bond on debt ’ll be modest

T he Federal Government’s plan to issue USD3 billion worth of foreign bonds of up to three years maturity to refinance maturing naira-denominated treasury bills, if approved, will have a modest impact on broad debt sustainability indicators, experts at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC Nigeria) have said. In line with Federal Government’s debt management strategy to rebalance its debt portfolio for domestic and foreign debt, from the current 69 per cent: 3 1 per cent to a targeted 60per cent: 40 per cent, the Federal Executive Council (FEC) recently approved a plan to issue USD3 billion worth of foreign bonds of up to three years maturity to refinance maturing naira-denominated treasury bills. Julius Malema, leader of the Economic Freedom Fighters party (EFF) said 60 African National Congress (ANC) members in South Africa’s parliament will back a no-confidence vote against President Jacob Zuma if the ballot is secret.
