Ikorodu: Cult groups strike peace deal

Over  100 youths last Friday renounced membership of cult groups in Ikorodu Local Government Area of Lagos State. Abdulazeez Sholebo, a leader of the Eiye Confraternity, told newsmen after his group joined other cult groups, including the Bucaneers and the Black Axe, to publicly announce their resolve to quit cultism and all forms of criminalities. Sholebo said that they would not return to their former ways again and thanked the Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, for granting them amnesty. He announced that the youths, following their decision to embrace peace, have also decided to hunt the notorious Badoo killers and other criminals out of town. Abandoned Fed Govt’s assets worries Okunnu

ONE-TIME Federal Commissioner for Works & Housing, Alhaji Femi Okunnu, yesterday expressed concern over the state of the former Federal Secretariat in Ikoyi and other abandoned Federal Government assets in Lagos State. Okunnu, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) spoke at the Lagos House in Ikeja where he presented the report of a Special Committee set up by Governor Akinwunmi Ambode on Federal Government Assets in Lagos, the nation’s erstwhile capital. According to him, Ikoyi, Banana Island, Osborne Foreshore, Festac Town, Satellite Town and Trade Fair among other areas, belonged to the Lagos State Government. BEING fit is not just about what you eat and drink or how you move. It’s about having the right mindset and enough energy to be active and to choose healthy food. Many people go wrong by eating a breakfast made up mostly of refined carbohydrates with very little fibre and protein — like a refined-flour bagel, a muffin made with sugar and white flour, or a sugary low-fibre breakfast cereal.
