Innoss’B – Chantier


 A well-known musician in the Congolese music scene, Innoss'B has made a big impact on a lot of different music genres, like Afrobeats, Ndombolo, Hip Hop, R&B, Rumba, and Afropop. He was born on May 5, 1997, as Innocent Didace Balume in Goma, Democratic Republic of the Congo. He is well-known for his diverse skill set as a rapper, singer, dancer, and songwriter. One of the singles from his most recent album, "Calcul," "Chantier," marks his comeback to the music scene.


The English word "Chantier," which means "Construction Site," immediately draws in listeners with its throbbing rhythm and upbeat percussion. A compelling groove introduces the song, setting the stage for an exciting musical adventure ahead.

Customs generates N239bn in Q1 2017

The Nigerian Custom Service (NCS) generated a total sum of N239.4billion in the first three months of this year, figures obtained from the Federal Ministry of Finance have revealed. The figure is contained in a document showing activities in the Ministry of Finance in the last two years. According to the document, Customs revenue performance for the first quarter of this year exceeded its target of N193.2billion. It said: “This performance was achieved through a reform programme aimed at restructuring the agency, re-orientation of its officers, removing defects and adopting simplified procedures in its activities. “The Customs collected N904.07billion in 2015 against a target of N944.4billion, the total collection in 2016 was N898.67billion against the target amount of N973.3billion. “Between January and March 2017, the Customs was able to generate N239.4billion, thereby exceeding the target of N193.22billion set for the period.” The Service also said it had complied wit...

Osinbajo opens 60, 000 Metric Tonnes Fertilizer Plant in Edo

Zenith Bank raises $2.1b via Eurobond

Zenith Bank Plc has raised $2.1 billion through Eurobond 2022 issue. It was more than 300 per cent oversubscribed. The $500 million five-year senior unsecured benchmark bond (144A/REGS) was issued by the Tier-1 lender on the Irish Stock Exchange. The bank’s Eurobond issue recorded success on three counts: pricing, subscription level and global appeal. Details of the issue show that the subscription level makes the issue highest by any non-sovereign and non-supranational company in sub-Saharan Africa. The issue, the lender said, is in addition to the existing $500 million which matures in April, 2019. The bond was issued at par with both coupon rate and yield to maturity rate priced at 7.375 per cent, representing 50 basis points better than the sovereign of 7.875 per cent. The rating of both the sovereign and Zenith Bank is B+ with the bond issue also rated B/B+. N760.17b refund: NLC to name indicted governors

Labour laments 5% payment to consultants WORKERS are angry with governors who blew their state’s share of the N760.17 billion Paris Club loan refund. President Muhammadu Buhari’s comment on how states failed to pay salaries despite the huge cash injection has provoked the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC).  It is threatening to “name and shame” governors who failed to spend the refund on salaries and pension. Besides,  the President should demand that the governors account for the money before any further release is made to them, the NLC said yesterday. NLC President Ayuba Wabba said it was unfortunate that despite their promises to pay workers’ salaries and pension, the governors refused to live by their word. Top ‘Boko Haram terrorist’, Aliko, arrested

A suspected Boko Haram terrorist, Aliyu Ahmed, alias Aliko is now in army custody following his arrest in Bauchi State. Army spokesman, Brigadier General Sani Usman, confirmed yesterday that Ahmed was arrested on Friday by troops of 33 Brigade, following a tip-off in Yuga village in Toro Local Government Area of the state, where he has been in hiding. The army also said it intercepted four child traffickers and 19 under aged children in Yobe State. “He was found to be in possession of one single barrel gun and one Dane gun. “During preliminary interrogation, he confessed that he actively participated in several Boko Haram terrorists’ attacks and also owned an AK-47 Rifle which he lost during one of the attacks they carried out in 2016. “His interrogation continued,” Usman said. Boko Haram: Child victim survives surgery, begins to walk

A six-year old Boko Haram victim, Ali Ahmadu, has survived a corrective surgery in his spinal cord. He can now walk, after 14 days in the hospital. While being ferried to Dubai on September 10, all he could mutter repeatedly in Hausa was:  “Ina so insake tafiya da kafana…Don Allah ataimakamu…Don Allah. Ina so in je makaranta”.  (“I want to begin to walk with my legs again. For God’s sake, assist me. I want to go to school”). Now Ali can walk as he “miraculously” stood up from his hospital bed to the amazement of his shocked doctors. They had projected that it would take him four weeks to walk. The surgery at Zulekha Hospital Sharjah in Dubai, United Arab Emirates was coordinated by Dr. Nishit Bhargava. It was  bankrolled by the Dickens Sanomi Foundation with $48,000 (N17.5million). Police arrest two over unlawful possession of firearms

Two suspects have been arrested in Pasali Kuje Area Council of FCT over unlawful possession of firearms. The suspects – Suleiman Salisu and Salisu Awolu – were arrested by police detectives at about 03:15 a.m. on Monday. Exhibits recovered from them included one locally-made pistol and a cutlass. The spokesman of the FCT police command, Anjuguri Manzah, disclosed these in a statement on Tuesday. The statement reads: “As part of proactive crime prevention measures deployed by the FCT Police Command to make the Federal Capital Territory safe and secure for all, police detectives attached to Kuje Division acting on tip have arrested two suspects over unlawful possession of firearm.” “The FCT Commissioner of Police, Musa Kimo, has ordered that the suspects and exhibits be transferred to the Command Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for discreet investigation.”

Einstein’s light-bending by single far-off star detected

For the first time, astronomers have seen a star outside of the solar system bend the light from another star. The measurement, reported June 7 in Austin, Texas, at a meeting of the American Astronomical Society, vindicates both Einstein’s most famous theory and what goes on in the inner lives of stellar corpses. Astronomers using the Hubble Space Telescope watched as a white dwarf passed in front of a more distant star. That star seemed to move in a small loop, its apparent position deflected by the white dwarf’s gravity. More than a century ago, Albert Einstein predicted that the way spacetime bends around a massive object — the sun, say — should shift the apparent position of stars that appear behind that object. Air Force destroys more insurgents’ structures

Nigeria Air Force (NAF) has destroyed more structures in Borno State used by Boko Haram insurgents as meeting points, spokesman Air Commodore Olatokunbo Adesanya said yesterday. Adesanya, in a statement at NAF headquarters in Abuja, said on the fourth day of intensive bombardments of terrorists’ hideouts at Sambisa, Air Force conducted interdiction on Boko Haram’s settlement at Njimia on September 10. He said: “NAF Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) platforms had confirmed that structures used by the insurgents as meeting points were in the location. “The interdiction was conducted by Alpha Jet and F-7Ni aircraft, which attacked the location with bombs. “Subsequent battle damage assessment showed the targeted insurgents’ structures were destroyed as a result of the attacks.” Adesanya said the attacks were planned to break the will and capability of the terrorists to regroup against the Air Force.
