CONFEDERATION CUP It’s Germany vs Chile in final

Germany will battle Chile in the finals of the 10th edition of the FIFA Confederations Cup after the completion of the second semi final match between Germany and Mexico yesterday.
Goals from Leon Goretzka, Timo Werner and Amin Younes ensured that Germany booked their place in  final after beating Mexico 4-1 at the Fisht Olympic Stadium in Sochi last night.
Germany started the contest in typically efficient fashion and they found themselves in front after just six minutes, Benjamin Henrichs breaking away to square a neat ball across the edge of the area to find Goretzka, who made no mistake with a clinical finish beyond Guillermo Ochoa.
Die Mannschaft soon found themselves with a two-goal advantage, this time as Mexico fell asleep at the back in order to allow Timo Werner to find space and produce a pin-point pass for the run of Goretzka in behind, the striker notching another adroit finish to claim his second of the night.
Mexico continued after the break and they spurned another standout chance to pull one back when Hernadez caught Joshua Kimmich sleeping, although Raul Jimenez could not beat Ter Stegen who stood tall.
Hopes of a Mexico revival were short-lived, however, as Julian Draxler soon orchestrated an almost-perfect team goal for Germany minutes later, feeding Jonas Hector with a neat through-ball before Timo Werner provided the finish into an empty net.
Juan Carlos Osorio’s side did earn a consolation goal nearing the end of proceedings, though, as Marco Fabian produced a standout free kick from range that left Ter Stegen rooted to the spot.
Germany replied in typical fashion, however, leaving substitute Younes to notch a fourth just a few moments later after collecting to Emre Can’s lay-off to seal progression into Sunday’s final.
