Jigawa disburses N2.4m to fire disaster victims

Alhaji Sani Babura, the Executive Secretary of Jigawa Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), says the state government has disbursed N2.4 million to some schools and a community   affected by fire disasters.
Babura disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Dutse on Friday.
He said the schools included Government Unity College, Birnin Kudu, Government Science School, Lautain, and Safa community in Ringim Local Government Area.
Babura said that Safa was given N2 million as a result of the fire outbreak that gutted the community and led to destruction of food produce and other items.
He also said  63 students of Government Unity College,  Birnin Kudu,  whose hostel was   gutted by fire were given N315,000, while 84 students of Government Science School got N420, 000.
Babura said the gesture was aimed at cushioning the effect of the calamity that befell the victims.
He said the agency would continue to provide support to victims of disasters as well as Internally Displaced Persons across the state.
