Osun commends FG’s cash transfer initiative

THE Osun State government has said that the cash transfer initiative of the Federal Government would address issues of poverty among those identified as vulnerable in the society. Speaking at a 4-day training workshop organized by the State Cash Transfer Unit on Savings and Group Mobilization (SGM) for Local Government Cash Transfer Facilitators, the state’s Commissioner for Women, Children and Social Affairs, Alhaja Latifat Giwa, assured that the initiative would reduce poverty and all forms of vulnerabilities among Nigerians.
Represented by the Director of Women, Mrs. Ruth Omoloye, the commissioner said the programme was designed to meet the aspiration of the people at the grassroots. The Coordinator, Osun Operation Coordinating Unit of the Youth Employment and Social Support Operation (YESSO), Bsrr. Olufemi Ifaturoti, hailed the Rauf Aregbesola administration for supporting the FG initiative to e.power the people of Osun State, particularly the vulnerables.
According to him, through the Aregbesola administration’s Six-Point-Integral Action Plan, the governor had demonstrated his commitment to banishing poverty, hunger and unemployment in the state. Also, the State Director National Orientation Agency (NOA), Dr. Lawrence Martins, advised the vulnerables to cultivate saving habit to help them overcome poverty. The Head of Cash Transfer Unit.
