Why you should not date a married woman

NO matter how sticky the situation, some men find themselves not only attracted to but in a relationship with a married woman.
The reasons for this range from exciting ones such as lust and/or love to the downright unfortunate one – ignorance about her marital status. The upside of such a relationship is that you are with an experienced, matured and (most of the times) financially independent woman; the downside however can be depressing and emotionally draining.

  1. A second option
When a married woman gets into an illicit affair, it is either because she is bored of / unhappy in her marriage or that she has given into temptation. The rule says that while she may be a great sexual partner and be happy & joyous with you, she won’t leave her husband for you. More often than not, the relationship will lose its steam when the sex gets repetitive and boring and she will move on to someone else (or return to being faithful to her husband). You are her second option and don’t daydream about her divorcing her husband for you.
  1. Family commitments first
A married woman will put her kids and family social commitments before you. She will attend to her kids and be by her husband’s side for social gatherings even if it means leaving you in a lurch. Life is no Bollywood movie, so don’t be surprised if she cancels on you at the last minute because something came up at home.
  1. Multiple sex partners
While she is sleeping with you, do not live under illusions that she is not getting intimate with her husband. Always wears a condom to protect yourself from contracting STDs.
  1. Emotional manipulation
Chances are that she will cry her marital woes in front of you; how her husband mistreats her and how her in-laws are unfair to her. The risk you run of falling for her tears and thus developing feelings for this ‘damsel in distress’ are high. Keep your head on your shoulders and do not fall victim to such emotional manipulation.
  1. No future
Like mentioned earlier, the relationship will end sooner than later. Assume that there is no future with this woman unless discussed otherwise. Be practical about the arrangement and don’t allow your feelings to run amok.
  1. Dealing with the husband’s wrath
If you are unlucky and get caught having this illegitimate affair, be prepared to be at the receiving end of the husband’s wrath. The man will come after you and have at least one show down with you. Nothing hurts a man’s ego more than his wife sleeping with another man. As in this case, since you are the ‘other man’ you will be targeted by him. Shrugging off responsibility, feigning ignorance about her marital status or blaming it all on her is not going to help your case one bit

175 Nigerians ‘voluntarily’ return from Libya

Another batch of One Hundred and Seventy-five (175) Nigerians voluntarily returned from Libya on Tuesday aboard a chartered Nouvelair aircraft with registration number TS-INA. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the aircraft landed at 7.50p.m at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos. The returnees were made up of of 34 males, 122 females, 10 children and nine infants. They were brought back by the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) and the Nigerian Embassy in Libya. The returnees were received at the Hajj Camp area of the airport by officers of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) and the Police. Father sexually assaults daughter for seven years in Kano

A Kano Magistrates’ Court on Friday ordered the remand of one Ibrahim Mohammed, 56, in prison custody, accused of having sexual intercourse with his daughter for seven years. Ibrahim, who lives at Hausawa Quarters Kano, is standing trial on a two-count charge of procuring minor and incest. The prosecutor, Insp. Aluta Mijinyawa, told the court that the accused began to sexually assault the girl in 2010 when she was just seven years old. He said Ibrahim had been having sex with the minor since the death of her mother in 2010, adding, “the victim was seven year’s then, now a 14-year-old girl.” Mijinyawa further told the court that the girl, having now grown up “to know what is good and bad,” resisted the father, who threatened to harm her. The prosecutor told the court that the girl reported the father at Metro Police Station in Kano. The prosecutor said that the offences contravened sections 275 and 390 of the penal code. FRSC deploys 33,000 personnel for Sallah

The Federal Road Safety Corps has approved the deployment of 33,000 regular and special marshals, 859 patrol vehicles, 106 ambulances, 267 motorbikes and 22 tow trucks for the 2017 Eid-el-kabir celebrations. This is to address wrong road usage by motorists which results in a high number of crashes during festivities. The Corps Public Education Officer, Bisi Kazeem, emphasized that the operation will focus on traffic control, speeding, dangerous driving/overtaking, clearance of road obstructions, seatbelt use violation, zero tolerance for use of telephone while driving, lane indiscipline and route violation among others as these have been identified as reoccurring factors of Road Traffic Crashes. Senate gives NPA four days for information on 282 missing vessels

The Senate on Thursday, gave the Managing Director, Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Hadiza Usman, four days to explain the whereabouts of over 282 vessels allegedly missing from the sea ports. Sen. Hope Uzodinma, Chairman, Senate’s Joint Committee on Customs, Excise and Tariff and Marine Transport, gave the ultimatum in Abuja, at an investigative hearing on N30 trillion lost through leakages in Customs and other agencies. Uzodinma, who expressed displeasure with the managing director for not honouring the committee’s two previous invitations, said the information on the vessels was imperative and must be available within four days. Pensioners condemn agitations for breakup

THE Nigeria Union of Pensioners (NUP) has asked those agitating for the country’s break up to stop and join hands with the government to promote unity. The union appealed to Acting President Yemi Osinbajo for the payment of the outstanding 18 months of 33  per cent pension arrears following the signing of the budget. In a statement signed by its General Secretary, Elder Actor Zal, the union praised the Federal Government for this month’s prompt payment of pensions to pensioners. Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike has said Rivers East has no senator. He spoke yesterday at  a Thanksgiving Service for Senator George Thompson Sekibo, at the St Thomas Anglican Church in Diobu.
