Man nabbed with human head in Ibadan

A suspected ritualist, Taju Olalekan, has been arrested by the Oyo State Police Command for alleged possession of a fresh human head.
A statement by spokesman Adekunle Ajisebutu said the 32-year old suspect was nabbed at Modina, Idi-Aro, Ibadan, about 6:30 am., on Sunday.
The statement said the arrest followed information by residents, who were curious about the suspect’s strange, suspicious movement.
“Policemen attached to Idi-Aro Police Division raced to the scene where the suspect was arrested with the exhibit.
“The suspect said the human head was given to him by his fleeing younger brother, Saheed Olalekan,” the statement further said.
The Nation learnt the suspect and his accomplice had been dealing in human parts.

Senate gives NPA four days for information on 282 missing vessels

The Senate on Thursday, gave the Managing Director, Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Hadiza Usman, four days to explain the whereabouts of over 282 vessels allegedly missing from the sea ports. Sen. Hope Uzodinma, Chairman, Senate’s Joint Committee on Customs, Excise and Tariff and Marine Transport, gave the ultimatum in Abuja, at an investigative hearing on N30 trillion lost through leakages in Customs and other agencies. Uzodinma, who expressed displeasure with the managing director for not honouring the committee’s two previous invitations, said the information on the vessels was imperative and must be available within four days. NIMC chief faults identification system

Impact of $3b bond on debt ’ll be modest

T he Federal Government’s plan to issue USD3 billion worth of foreign bonds of up to three years maturity to refinance maturing naira-denominated treasury bills, if approved, will have a modest impact on broad debt sustainability indicators, experts at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC Nigeria) have said. Homes submerged in Lagos, Suleja, Ibadan Ikoyi, Lekki, others thrown into darkness Floods hit many Nigerian cities after long hours of rainfall at the weekend. There were deaths. Homes were  flooded. Eleven people died in Suleja and other towns in Niger State. Many parts of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, were flooded.
