Planning crucial to Ondo

Ondo State Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (SAN) yesterday said his administration would impact the lives of residents through robust and effective planning.
The governor said the essence of planning underscored the pace at which his administration proceeded from inception.
He said his administration recognised the significance of planning for the realisation of its aspiration for real development.
Akeredolu spoke at the unveiling and public presentation of blueprint to progress report by the Strategic Development and Policy Implementation Committee at the International Event Centre (The Dome) in Akure, the state capital.
The governor inaugurated the SDPIC on December 29, 2016, to prepare a blueprint to guide his administration in fulfilling his campaign promises.
The governor said: “We are convinced there can be no impactful progress taken by any government without adequate planning.
“We hold dear the philosophy of making haste slowly. We believe it is more profitable for us to proceed assuredly than to embark on any unorganised pastime which accommodates tokenism and peripheral attention extended to systemic problems of existence in the state.
“The knowledge of the real situation of things assists in planning. It gives a clear vision of the itinerary of the government and the best way possible to chart a realistic course of development.
“It is a veritable template through which the viability of programmes is measured. It is the check list, a scientific guide which approximates the visions of serious leaders. It is the surest way to address socio-economic challenges.”
